We have been involved in a report looking at the recruitment and retention of apprentices around Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
We are very lucky in Shetland to have the help and support we do in training our apprentices, and I am extremely grateful to Train Shetland and Skills Development Scotland, notwithstanding my hard working apprentices past and present.
The report was produced by the Leaders Council and features the likes of MENTA, EDSK, TUC, and Lord Tony Hall of Birkenhead alongside Kaye and Hame fae Hame.
“My own experience of offering apprenticeships and recruiting staff for my childcare business in Shetland has been positive. However, other local businesses say that theirs has been variable, depending on the sector and apprenticeship framework within which they operate.”

We also featured on Shetland News earlier this month discussing recruiting staff in Shetland.
Kaye Sandison of Scalloway-based Hame fae Hame is one of 30 contributors to a report on the Workforce of the Future, released by the Leaders Council on Tuesday.”
